Biography

A Salford training,
a working life,
and the paint.

Neil Williams is a painter based in Manchester. He received formal art training at Salford Art College, and later went on to work for an advertising agency, where his skill base was considerably enhanced.

For most of his working life he was a central heating engineer in the Salford area, a trade that kept him outdoors and moving through the landscape he now paints. He was a good friend of the artist Charles Jones, a respected Salford painter and an additional influence on his work.

Away from the studio he fishes: long, still hours on the water with a clear echo in the estuaries, weather fronts and low horizons of the paintings.

His work has been presented across Liverpool, Salford and Bolton.
